Mobile Homes emphasises opportunism, dynamism and cohabitation. Acknowledging that ‘home’ means different things to different creatures (particular ontologies elevate every day, mundane objects to places where lives are lived) is central to appreciating the ecological and biological richness that coexists with our own human lives. As if to underscore this, actual spiders unexpectedly infiltrate and parody my woven webs, their own contributions deliberately, sensitively and poetically orchestrated to efficiently transform an unlikely object into a home – a domestic space.
