Primitives explores the intersection between sculpture and design. Drawing on the scaled dimensions of bricks the volume of internal cavities become the focus, while the different brick designs are stacked in a considered manner and combine to produce hominid forms. Tension develops between the delicate appearance of the slender legs and the weight of the supported bricks to produce a playful reinterpretation of a familiar, mass produced industrial item.
